Softlight is a product designed for a business hotel context that challenges the sterile aesthetics of standardised comfort by reintroducing intimacy and emotional resonance. It addresses loneliness as a common experience among business travellers who spend long periods away from home, their belongings, and their loved ones.
Filled with air, Softlight unfolds to a human scale, providing light and a sense of companionship in the darkness of solitude. Soft and yielding, almost like a cushion, its poetic gesture encourages touch and interaction. It can be hung or taken down, moved, held, or leaned against — a mobile presence within an otherwise fixed environment.
